Dalian Bio-tech and Pharmaceutical Industrial Park is a specialized park organized and developed by Dalian Municipal Government via giving full play to the city's advantages in port, opening, technological innovation, talents and the intangible environment, in response to the strategy of revitalizing the Northeast advanced by the State Council and in compliance with the demand of "Grand Dalian" development construction so as to restructure the industries and develop the knowledge economy.
In Sep. 2005, Dalian Bio-tech and Pharmaceutical Industrial Park was granted the title of "Bio-tech and Pharmaceutics Industrial Base of State Torch Program" by the Ministry of Science and Technology.
The Park is located in Dalian DD Port, a rising technology city between DDA and Golden Pebble Beach Resort. The DD (DIGITAL & DNA) refer to the digital and life technologies respectively. Liaohe East Road goes across DD Port and on the south of the road is the scientific research and industrial area of life technology and relevant fields, i.e. Dalian Bio-tech and Pharmaceutical Industrial Park , with the total planning area of 7.2km 2 and a land patch of 3.7km 2 for development and utilization completed in the phase-1 construction. The Park will form an R&D and technology conversion*production manufacturing*logistics*education*commerce and residence*both wings*in-shore layout.
DD Port owns moisture air, mild climate and beautiful environment, closely neighboring to Dazhuan Expressway, 20km away from Dalian Zhoushuizi International Port , 10km away from Dayao Bay International Container Port and with the city light rail train near at hand, in a much developed marine, land and air transportation system.
